AUSVISAYAN joins the Cebuanos and the global Filipino communities in the celebration of the 460th Fiesta Senor Santo Nino on 19 Jan 2025.

Australian Visayan Multicultural Communities (AUSVISAYAN) through Ronaldo Villaver responded to the calls for relief assistance to the victims of Typhoon Kristine that struck the Bicol Region recently.

Through Allie’s Desert House of Goa, Camarines Sur who was our contact on the ground, AUSVISAYAN was able to provide meals to more than 250 affected individuals who are residents of Barangays San Roque and Dahat, Lagonoy, Camarines Sur last 29 October 2024.

Our big thanks to Allie’s Desert House and to the volunteers and donors who made possible the fourth day relief operation successful. Thanks too to Barkada Together (BaTo).

An initiative under the Individual and Community Responses to Disasters (iRespond)

The Leyte-Samar Association in Melbourne invites everyone to the “First Ever Christmas Party” organised by the association on 21 December 2024, from 5:30pm at Noble Park Community Centre, Noble Park, Victoria, Australia.

There will be live music with DJ, Kris Kringle (worth $30), raffles, kuratsa dance and among other activities.

A registration fee of $20 for adults, kids for $10 and free for kids below 7 years old and $50 for family of 6 will be collected.

Attendees are requested to wear anything with green and red and will have to bring and share a plate.

Ronaldo Villaver of Australian Visayan Multicultural Communities (AUSVISAYAN) attended the Australia Commemoration of the 80th Leyte Gulf Landings at Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia held on 19 October 2024.

A parade of colours, playing of the national anthems of USA, Philippines and Australia as well as the recorded video of the radio the message of General Douglas MacArthur, laying of wreaths and commemorative messages of the invited guests were the main segments of the commemoration.

To recall, the annual Leyte Gulf Landings commemoration in Australia was initiated by Ronaldo Villaver of EVESTCCO/Eastern Visayas Communities in 2009 and who was then President of the Philippine Community Council of New South Wales (PCCNSW) Inc. The judges of Ignite Volume 1 Dance Battle 2024 organised by Spark Studio has declared Epic Duo as its inaugural champion in its event held on 31 August 2024 at Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia.

Our congratulations to Jerson and JP for its outstanding dance battle performance.

On the same event, the Pino Brothers won the second prize during the competition.
